JOHN E. MACK III
Co-founder and CEO
Head of Security Practice
John E. Mack III is the founder of USBX, Inc., and has served on the Board of Directors and as Chief Executive Officer since the company’s inception in April 2000. Mr. Mack is responsible for the business’s growth and overall strategic direction.
Prior to founding USBX Advisory Services, Mr. Mack served as the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Protection One, Inc. (NYSE: POI), the nation's second largest provider of life safety and property monitoring services. Prior to assuming the role of CEO, Mr. Mack held the positions of Chief Financial Officer, Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President of Business Development, where he was involved in over 200 acquisitions and oversaw the company’s growth from approximately 30,000 subscribers and $17 million in revenue to more than 1.6 million subscribers, over $600 million in revenue and an enterprise value of over $2 billion. Before joining Protection One, Mr. Mack was a senior executive officer with Westec Security, Inc.
Mr. Mack earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, B.A. 1981 and his Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), 1991.

JAY BEAGHAN
Managing Director
Head of Technology Practice
Mr. Beaghan brings 17 years of middle market and technology investment banking experience to USBX Advisory Services with a background across more than one hundred merger,
acquisition, equity and debt transactions aggregating to over $5 billion in value. Most recently, Mr. Beaghan was a senior investment banker with Robertson Stephens
where his focuses included IT Security, Infrastructure and Applications Software, Storage & Networking, Semiconductor Design, Wireless/Communications
and Digital Media Technologies.
Mr. Beaghan also advised and financed growth and technology clients as a member of middle market investment and merchant banking firms
prior to his work with Robertson Stephens. He has led financings involving venture capital funds, private equity firms, strategic investors, private investments in public
equities, and public equity or convertible debt offerings, and has represented both buyers and sellers in the context of M&A advisory engagements.
Mr. Beaghan earned his BA (Accounting) from Notre Dame and his JD (Securities, Corporate Law, Tax and M&A) from Loyola. He is a member of the California Bar.

CHRISTY GLASS LOWE
Managing Director
Head of Consumer Practice
Mrs. Lowe joined USBX Advisory Services from Goldman Sachs & Co. where she worked in the Investment Banking Division focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions. Mrs. Lowe advised clients on various alternatives, including exclusive sales, divestitures, LBO's, leveraged recapitalizations, IPO's, secondary offerings, and credit analysis. Industries covered included consumer products, forest products, Food and Beverage, telecommunications, Internet, education, and professional services.
Mrs. Lowe also worked at the middle market private equity firm McCown De Leeuw, focusing on consolidation plays and add-on acquisitions for portfolio companies. Industries covered included Food and Beverage, TV broadcasting and marketing services
Mrs. Lowe earned her Masters of Business Administration from Stanford Business School and her undergraduate degree in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

MICHAEL MCMANUS
Managing Director
Security & Government IT Services
Mr. McManus joined USBX from SmallCap Corporate Advisors, LLC where he brought bulge bracket investment banking expertise to smaller companies that were underserved by large investment banks. Prior to founding SmallCap, Mr. McManus was a Vice President with Jefferies Quarterdeck in both the Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. offices. While with Jefferies, Mr. McManus focused on the aerospace, defense and government services sectors and specialized in public company merger, acquisition and financing transactions. Mr. McManus has also worked for CIBC World Markets and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. During his five years with DLJ, he gained broad experience with all product and advisory skill sets. Additionally, while with DLJ in London, Mr. McManus co-founded the European sell-side practice to focus on cross border, middle market sell-side transactions.
Prior to attending business school, Mr. McManus served in the U.S. Army for over seven years, in various capacities including Tank Platoon Leader and Headquarters Company Executive Officer. Mr. McManus received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Business Administration with distinction (top 10%) from the S. C. Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. Mr. McManus is also an FAA licensed private pilot with an interest in aerobatics.

GARY SCHUMAN
CFO & CCO
Mr. Schuman joined USBX Advisory Services in 2003 and serves as the firm’s CFO and Chief Compliance Officer. Leveraging more than 15 years of securities industry experience, he is responsible for all financial reporting, compliance and general administration at USBX. Previously, Mr. Schuman was the Chief Compliance Officer of Equibond, Inc., a boutique broker-dealer servicing high net worth clients. During his tenure at Equibond, he also he oversaw proprietary outside investing activities. Mr. Schuman has been instrumental in the launch of several securities industry start-ups, including a registered investment advisor, a hedge fund, and a bank-owned broker-dealer.
Mr. Schuman started his career in the securities industry with Drake Capital. While at Drake, he was an analyst for the high-yield securities department, evaluating various distressed corporate bond situations and performing industry analysis.
Mr. Schuman earned his Masters of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Southern California (USC), and his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
